Ground rules for everyone
For: Venues · Professionals · Private individuals
On Sunworker, the same ground rules apply to everyone: be respectful, honest and reliable, and keep all arrangements and payments on the platform.
At a glance
- Who they apply to: everyone who uses Sunworker – venues, professionals and private individuals. Sunworker is only for adults.
- Sunworker's role: Sunworker arranges the match and does not become a party to the Shift Contract. The professional is self-employed; Sunworker is not a temporary agency.
- What is binding: the Terms and Conditions. This article sums up the most important rules and points to the articles with the details.
Treat each other with respect
You treat each other with respect: no insults, no discrimination. The following are also not allowed:
- content that is unlawful, insulting, harassing, discriminatory, misleading or sexualised
- contact details outside the fields provided for them
- forged credentials
- offers unrelated to hospitality
What this looks like during a shift is explained under Respect during a shift.
Honest information
What you state is true: in your profile, in your credentials, in the request, in the actual time and in your review.
More under Credentials and expiry dates, Check-in, check-out and billing by actual time and Fair reviews.
Arrangements and payment through Sunworker
- The shift is binding, not the chat: times and amounts apply as they are stated in the shift.
- Phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses and links are hidden in messages before they are delivered. The address and contact person are shown in the shift once it is confirmed.
- Payment goes through Sunworker – so escrow, invoice and review run through the platform.
- Venues and professionals who met through Sunworker don't arrange shifts outside the platform for 12 months after their last contact. Anyone who asks to do so is breaking the rules.
Why this is so and what exceptions there are is explained under Contact and payment outside the platform; how payment works under Escrow and secure payment.
Self-employed, not hired out
The professional sets their own hourly rate, freely accepts or declines requests and can work for any number of clients. Sunworker gives no instructions on the time, place or manner of the work. Declining or not responding does not affect either the level or the search order.
| Topic | Fine | Not fine |
|---|---|---|
| Service | describe the result (occasion, menu, number of guests, time frame), name the station, give a briefing | detailed instructions on how the work is done |
| Rules on site | point out hygiene, safety and house rules that apply to everyone | attendance requirements outside the shift |
| Hourly rate | The professional sets it themselves. | specifying the hourly rate or renegotiating it in the chat |
| Requests | several shifts with the same client, each requested and accepted individually | fixed rotas instead of individual requests, an obligation to accept |
The details are under Self-employed, not agency work.
Be reliable
- If you have to cancel, cancel early.
- Block days that don't suit you in your calendar.
- Decline requests clearly instead of letting them expire. Before you accept, declining costs nothing and doesn't count against your level.
- You only change the time, place or scope of a shift that has been agreed if both sides consent.
Cancellations and no-shows by a professional count against their public level and can lead to suspension if repeated. Cancellations by a venue count towards its own reliability. More under Cancellations and no-shows.
Your account is yours
Keep your sign-in details secret and don't share your account; it is not transferable. If you suspect someone else is using it, tell Sunworker without delay. How to protect your account is explained under Protecting your account and sign-in.
What happens when rules are broken
- If you notice a violation
- Report it directly on the profile, message or review using “Report”. A person checks the report; nobody is suspended automatically on the basis of a report alone. Reporting violations – and what happens next
- If Sunworker finds a violation
- Sunworker chooses the mildest measure that is sufficient – for example hiding a profile or restricting individual functions before an account is suspended. A person always decides on restricting or suspending an account, and you receive a statement of reasons. Account suspension and complaints
- If you think a decision is wrong
- You can complain free of charge by email to kontakt@sunworker.eu within 6 months of being notified. A person reviews the complaint again.
Warning: If there is immediate danger, call the police or ambulance first. A report to Sunworker does not replace an emergency call.
