1. Who appears in search
Search includes every professional who meets all of the following conditions at the same time. Anyone who fails one of them does not appear; there is no demotion to the end of the list.
- The profile has been reviewed and activated by Sunworker and is neither restricted nor suspended (§ 12 of the Terms).
- The professional is currently accepting requests. They can switch this on and off in their profile at any time.
- If you search as a private person, you only see professionals who accept jobs from private persons.
- If a location is given, it lies within the travel radius the professional has set, and – if you choose one – within your search radius. We measure the straight-line distance between the professional's location and the location searched.
- If a postcode cannot be matched to a place, we limit results to the same postcode region instead (the first two digits); there is then no distance.
- The overview page for a city shows professionals based in that city.
- If a day is selected, professionals who have blocked that whole day are excluded. Anyone who has blocked only part of the day remains visible.
- The filters you set yourself: role, search text (name, profile text and home town), price range, minimum rating, professional experience, languages, valid certificate, level and “confirmed availability only”. If a filter has several values, such as two roles, one of them is enough.
The minimum rating does not exclude professionals without reviews: a new profile is not bad, just not yet rated. A certificate counts as valid if Sunworker has checked it and it has not expired on the selected day – or today, if no day is selected.
2. The default order “Best match”
Unless you choose a different sort order, we order by “Best match”. The five main parameters apply strictly one after another: the second only decides between professionals who are equal on the first, the third only where the first two are equal, and so on. There is no score into which several parameters flow in shares, and there are no further parameters.
- 1. Availability on the selected day
- first those who have explicitly entered availability for the day – as a single day or as a recurring weekly time – then everyone without an entry; only if a day is selected
- 2. Distance
- straight line from the professional's location to the location searched, nearer first; only if a location is given
- 3. Average rating
- from all published reviews that clients gave after completed jobs, higher first; without reviews it counts as 0
- 4. Number of reviews
- more first, counted up to a maximum of 30
- 5. Completed jobs
- more first
Why this weighting: anyone looking for a professional first needs someone who is free on the desired day, and then someone who can reach the venue. Only among several who meet both does the experience of other clients help with the choice. Availability and distance therefore come before rating and jobs.
Because distance is measured precisely, two professionals are rarely exactly the same distance away. With a location, distance therefore usually decides; rating, number of reviews and jobs then mainly matter between professionals at the same location. Without a location, rating decides after availability.
We only count reviews up to 30 so that a profile with a very large number of reviews does not top every list and new professionals are seen at all. Because a missing rating counts as 0, a professional who has not yet been rated ranks behind rated ones if everything else is equal.
If an input is missing – no day, no location – the corresponding parameter drops out for everyone alike. If two professionals are equal on all parameters, we set no further order; it then results technically from the database and may change between two requests.
3. Other lists
The same conditions and the same “Best match” order apply to the professionals on the home page, on the overview pages by role and city, and in the app.
“Similar professionals” on a profile are professionals with the same main role who can reach the location of the professional being viewed and at the same time lie within that professional's travel radius – without a location: in the same city – ordered by “Best match”. The professional being viewed never appears there.
A client's “Known professionals” and “Saved” lists only show professionals with whom the client has already had a job or whom the client has saved. They are not a search and have no effect on the order in search.
4. Sort orders you choose yourself
Above the results you can choose a different sort order at any time. It then applies instead of “Best match” until you change it again. If a day is selected, availability still comes first.
- Nearest first – straight line, nearer first, then rating
- Highest rated – average rating, then number of reviews
- Most reviews – number of reviews without a cap, then rating
- Lowest price first – hourly rate, lowest first, then rating
- Highest price first – hourly rate, highest first, then rating
- Most experience – stated years of experience, then rating
- Top professionals first – level from Top professional via Experienced and Proven to New, then rating
- Newest – most recently registered first, then rating
For businesses, we sort by price using the hourly rate excluding VAT that the professional sets. For private persons, we sort by the hourly rate including VAT as displayed; for small businesses (Section 19 UStG) it contains no VAT. Surcharges and travel are only fixed for a specific job and are not included.
You can change or reset sort order and filters at any time. There are no other settings that change the order.
5. Job postings and applications
Private persons can post a job. The posting is visible to professionals in the matching role who accept jobs from private persons and whose travel radius reaches the venue – if the place cannot be determined: in the same postcode region. We notify at most 500 of them about a new posting, nearest first. Professionals see open postings by the start of the job, earliest first.
The private person first sees the applications to their posting by final price, lowest first. They can sort by rating, distance or date received instead. Applications still open come before those already decided; if equal, the earlier application comes first.
6. Levels
Every professional is on one of four levels: New, Proven, Experienced or Top professional. The level is a badge on the profile. Sunworker calculates it solely from the results of firmly agreed jobs: the number of completed jobs, the average rating and the number of reviews, the length of membership, and the share of established no-shows after acceptance. Cancellations do not count, neither those of the professional nor those of the client; nor do response time, acceptance rate, declined requests and calendar upkeep.
Proven: at least 5 completed jobs and a rating of 4.0 from at least 3 reviews, no more than 5 % not turned up for. Experienced: at least 20 jobs, a rating of 4.5 from at least 5 reviews, 90 days on the platform, no more than 3 % not turned up for. Top professional: at least 50 jobs, a rating of 4.8 from at least 10 reviews, 180 days on the platform, no more than 1 % not turned up for. The share relates to completed and not-turned-up jobs together. Anyone who reaches none of these levels is “New”; this level carries no badge.
The level only affects the order if you choose “Top professionals first” yourself or filter by level. It plays no part in “Best match”.
The commission depends neither on this level nor on the rating. It is based solely on the number of completed jobs, in separate commission levels: New, Level 1 from 5, Level 2 from 25 and Level 3 from 75 completed jobs (§ 5 para. 4 of the Terms; the rates are on the pricing page). The badge on the profile is independent of this. Cancellations and no-shows do not change the commission. The rating affects what is shown on the profile, the badge and the order (sections 2 and 4), never the commission.
7. What has no influence
The order cannot be bought. There is no paid placement, no advertising or sponsored results in the lists and no ranking in return for direct or indirect remuneration. Neither the commission rate, the use of particular features nor any other payment to Sunworker changes the order. Should this ever change, we will describe it on this page beforehand and label every result influenced in this way as an advertisement.
We do not personalise the order. Anyone making the same search with the same inputs gets the same order; your previous behaviour, saved professionals, earlier bookings and your language play no part. The only differences follow from your role: private persons only see professionals who accept private jobs, and prices including VAT (sections 1 and 4).
The order is calculated by a fixed rule in the database. We do not use artificial intelligence, profiling or a learning system for it.
Response time, acceptance and decline rates, profile views, badges and certificates (except as a filter) and setting up the payout account also have no influence. There are no providers affiliated with Sunworker; Sunworker does not offer any jobs itself.
8. Who offers services and who your contracting party is
All professionals on Sunworker declared on registration that they work on a self-employed basis. By their own declaration they are therefore traders within the meaning of Section 14 BGB; consumer law therefore applies in your relationship with them if you book as a private person.
You conclude the contract for the job with the professional, not with Sunworker. The professional sets their own price and decides for themselves whether to accept a request.
Sunworker arranges the contact, handles the payment as trustee and issues the invoice on behalf of the professional unless they upload their own. This gives rise to no claims against Sunworker to the job itself; your rights arising from the job lie against the professional. Details are in § 13 of the Terms.
9. Reviews
How reviews come about, when they appear and how we check that they are genuine is explained under How we check reviews.
10. Questions and complaints
The platform is provided by Sunworkers Ltd., Sinasi Bei 69, Kings Resort, Block C, Flat/Office A2, 8015 Paphos, Cyprus, registered under HE 464110. We answer questions about the order at kontakt@sunworker.eu.
Businesses and professionals can complain about the order free of charge; the procedure is set out in § 14 of the Terms.
11. Changes
If we change a main parameter or its weighting, we first change this page and § 8 of the Terms. We inform businesses and professionals at least 30 days in advance by email (§ 15 of the Terms, Art. 3(2) P2B Regulation).
Every version has a number and a date; the current one is shown at the top of this page. We provide earlier versions on request.
