What do hostesses do?

Hostesses and hosts welcome guests. In a restaurant they keep the reservation list, greet, seat and keep track of free tables. At trade fairs and events they look after the entrance, the cloakroom, the stand or the champagne reception.

On Sunworker they are listed under the role “Host”. Every profile shows experience, languages, documents, reviews from earlier shifts and the hourly rate each hostess sets herself.

Each shift is booked on its own: day, time, place and pay are in the request. Once accepted, the shift is binding, and the actual time is billed.

Placement, not agency work

Who has a contract with whom

Sunworker does not lease hostesses either: the venue, organiser or private person contracts directly with the self-employed hostess.

Why Sunworker

What matters when booking hostesses

Languages and experience on the profile

Every profile names languages, experience in restaurants, hotels or trade fairs and reviews from earlier organisers. Documents are shown with their expiry date.

Available for single days

Hostesses keep their own calendar. Searching by day and postcode shows who is free for the fair day or the evening.

One invoice per shift

Check-in and check-out on site, the client approves the hours, and the invoice is created automatically – for organisers with many shifts also via export to Lexware Office, sevDesk or DATEV.

How much do hostesses cost?

Every hostess sets her own hourly rate, shown on the profile before you ask. It depends on experience, languages and the shift.

Sunworker keeps a 15 % commission from the professional. Venues also pay a 15 % service fee on the order value. Account, search and requests are free, and there is no base fee.

Private persons pay no service fee. Surcharges for nights, Sundays and holidays are fixed in advance.

How to book hostesses

Four steps from account to billed shift.

  1. Step 1: Register your venue

Name, address and contact person. It takes a few minutes and costs nothing.

  2. Step 2: Find a professional

Filter by role, postcode and date. Every profile shows the hourly rate, experience, reviews and credentials.

  3. Step 3: Request a shift

Enter the date, time and location. The professional accepts or declines; the shift only becomes binding once they accept.

  4. Step 4: Work and settle up

The professional checks in and out on site. You are billed for the actual time worked, and the receipt appears in your account afterwards.

Questions about hostesses

How much does a hostess cost per hour?

Every hostess sets her own hourly rate, shown on the profile. Venues and organisers also pay a 15 % service fee, private persons none.

Can I book hostesses for a trade fair?

Yes. Send one request per hostess for each fair day. Each accepts individually, and hours are billed per day.

Do the hostesses speak foreign languages?

Languages are shown on every profile, so you can find hostesses who speak English or other languages for international fairs and guests.

Is this temporary agency work?

No. The hostesses are self-employed and make the contract for the shift directly with the client. Sunworker places and handles the payment.

Are there male hosts too?

Yes. On Sunworker the role is called “Host” and is open to everyone. Each profile shows who takes the shift.

How soon can I book?

As soon as someone accepts. The search can be narrowed to one day and only shows who is available.
