Kitchen help for hire
When prep falls behind or the dish station overflows: on Sunworker, restaurants, hotels, canteens and caterers book self-employed kitchen assistants directly – with a checked health certificate and a fixed hourly rate.

Kitchen help for hire – in German “Mietküchenhilfe” – steps in for single shifts. They clean and cut vegetables, prepare sides, portion, keep the station clean and help at the service counter.
On Sunworker these are self-employed kitchen assistants and dishwashers with their own profile: experience, documents such as the health certificate under § 43 IfSG, reviews from earlier venues and the hourly rate each sets themselves.
Each shift is booked on its own. Day, time, place and tasks are in the request. Once accepted, the shift is binding, and the actual time is billed.
Placement, not agency work
“Hiring” kitchen help sounds like leasing, but it is not: on Sunworker the venue contracts directly with the self-employed kitchen assistant.
Typical shifts for kitchen assistants and dishwashers on Sunworker.
Cleaning and cutting vegetables, preparing sauces and sides: a kitchen assistant takes prep off the cooks' hands.
When the dishes pile up after service, a dishwasher comes for the evening – with experience on conveyor machines.
Portioning, staffing the counter, fetching supplies: in canteens every hand counts at the lunchtime peak.
Easter, Christmas, summer: kitchen help for hire covers the weeks when the kitchen does twice the work.
Searching by day shows only kitchen assistants who are free then – even at short notice.
For buffets and large events the production kitchen needs extra hands for prep and clearing.
Why Sunworker
The health certificate under § 43 IfSG and hygiene training are on the profile – checked and with the date until which they are valid. The search can show only kitchen assistants with a valid document.
Kitchen assistants keep their own calendar. Searching by day and postcode shows who is free nearby.
Check-in and check-out at the venue, the venue approves the hours, and the invoice is created automatically – directly in Lexware Office or sevDesk, or as a DATEV export, if you like.
Every kitchen assistant sets their own hourly rate, shown on the profile before you ask. It depends on experience and tasks.
Sunworker keeps a 15 % commission from the professional. Venues also pay a 15 % service fee on the order value. Account, search and requests are free, and there is no base fee.
Private persons can also book kitchen help, for example for a large party. They pay no service fee.
Four steps from account to billed shift.
Name, address and contact person. It takes a few minutes and costs nothing.
Filter by role, postcode and date. Every profile shows the hourly rate, experience, reviews and credentials.
Enter the date, time and location. The professional accepts or declines; the shift only becomes binding once they accept.
The professional checks in and out on site. You are billed for the actual time worked, and the receipt appears in your account afterwards.

As soon as someone accepts – even for the same day. The search can be narrowed to one day and only shows who is available.
The health certificate under § 43 IfSG is shown with its expiry date on the profile where it has been uploaded and checked. The search can be limited to kitchen assistants with a valid document.
