Sunworker

Check-in, check-out and billing by actual time

For: Professionals · Venues · Private individuals

Billing is based on the time actually worked: the professional checks in and out on site, submits the actual time, and the client confirms it.

At a glance

  • Who checks in: only the professional, on each shift day no earlier than 30 minutes before the start and up to 4 hours after it.
  • What counts: the time actually worked, to the minute – not the planned time.
  • Who confirms: the client, meaning the venue or the private individual. If they do not respond within 48 hours, the actual time counts as confirmed.

On the day: check-in and check-out

The professional checks in on site and checks out again after work. This is possible on each shift day no earlier than 30 minutes before the start and up to 4 hours after it. The times are recorded because the actual duration determines the bill.

If the device sends a location at the same time, only the professional can see it. The client only learns the time.

Submitting the actual time

  1. The professional submits the actual time for each shift day: start, end and break.
  2. They enter travel costs up to the amount set in their terms at most; for a ticket, with a receipt.
  3. Sunworker reminds them to submit the time 2 hours after the end of the day.
  4. The client checks the details and confirms or disputes them.

Warning: The client has 48 hours to confirm or dispute the actual time. If they do not respond, it counts as confirmed – Sunworker points this out explicitly when the time is submitted. Venues are reminded after 24 and after 44 hours.

Confirming or disputing the actual time

If the details are correct, the client confirms them. If something is wrong, they dispute them: with a category (times, break, travel or other), a reason of at least 10 characters and, if they wish, a counter-proposal. The client never changes the times themselves.

If the professional accepts the proposal
The day is then confirmed.
If they submit again with corrected times
The 48 hours for checking start again.
If you cannot agree
The professional can open a dispute. Sunworker then establishes the times based on check-in, check-out and messages. More in Resolving disputes.

How billing works

The pay is the professional's hourly rate multiplied by the time actually worked, to the minute, plus any agreed surcharges and travel. With a fixed price, the agreed amount applies. Only the professional sets the hourly rate.

Surcharges are only owed if they have been agreed. If several apply, only the highest counts; they are not added together.

Night work (11 pm–6 am)
+ 25%
Sunday
+ 50%
Public holiday
+ 100%

A surcharge is only owed if it has been agreed. If several apply, only the highest counts – they are not added together. The details are in the Terms.

A shift day can last no more than 16 hours, with a break of up to 240 minutes. What else goes into the price is explained under Pricing.

Special cases

Forgot to check out

Sunworker records the planned time 6 hours after the end of the day. The professional still submits the actual time themselves.

Worked longer or shorter than planned

No separate request is needed: the professional enters the actual time. Once it is confirmed, an additional amount is charged to the same payment method and a lower amount is refunded. With a fixed price, neither applies.

Split shift or early finish

A split shift is entered as two blocks. If the shift ends earlier than planned, the professional notes this with the actual time.

Shift over several days

The actual time is submitted and confirmed for each day separately. The clearing period only starts once all days have been confirmed.

Once all days are confirmed

The shift is then completed automatically. After that, the invoice is created and reviews become possible. After the clearing period of 72 hours, the payout follows as soon as the invoice is available. How the money is protected until then is explained in Escrow and secure payment.
