How Sunworker builds trust

• What Sunworker is: a marketplace that arranges matches with self-employed hospitality professionals. Restaurants, hotels, bars, caterers and private individuals book them for individual shifts – from one evening to a whole season.
• What Sunworker is not: a temporary agency. Sunworker does not become a party to the Shift Contract; the professional works on a self-employed basis.
• Who it's for: venues, professionals and private individuals aged 18 or over.

Credentials are checked – and they expire

An uploaded document only becomes a credential once it has been checked. Sunworker checks that it is complete, legible and still valid. Every credential has an expiry date. Once that date is reached, it shows as “expired” on the profile instead of quietly disappearing.

The money is held in escrow

When a shift is agreed, the amount does not go straight to the professional. Sunworker receives it as a trustee and holds it in a platform account with Stripe. During that time it belongs neither to the client nor to the professional.

It is only paid out after the shift: after a clearing period of 72 hours from completion and once the invoice is available. You enter card details directly with Stripe; Sunworker does not store them. Escrow and secure payment

Reviews only come from real shifts

Only people who took part in a shift completed through Sunworker can leave a review – exactly once per shift and direction. Venue and professional review blind: both reviews only become visible once both have been submitted or the 14-day period has ended.

All published reviews are shown, positive and negative. Payments to Sunworker, levels or advertising change nothing about that, and nobody receives anything in return for a review. The details are in our policy How we check reviews.

Arranging, not hiring out

Sunworker arranges the match and does not become a party to the Shift Contract. The professional sets their own hourly rate and decides on every request individually.

A profile that works only for a single venue over a long period is a warning sign. Sunworker looks into it. Self-employed, not agency work
