Sunworker

Uploading credentials and having them verified

You upload credentials such as your health certificate on your profile; Sunworker checks them, and only a verified credential that has not expired counts.

How to upload a credential

  1. In the onboarding, open the “Credentials and self-employment” step, or open the credentials area on your profile.
  2. Choose the type of credential and upload the document as a PDF or image.
  3. Enter the issuer, the date of issue and — if there is one — the expiry date.
  4. Sunworker checks the document. Until then the credential shows as “open” on your profile.

What the status means

  • Open: uploaded, the check is under way. Venues see “under review”.
  • Verified: Sunworker has seen the document. Your profile shows how long it is valid.
  • Expired: the expiry date has passed. The credential no longer counts but remains visible as expired.

The health certificate under section 43 IfSG

Anyone who works with food commercially — in the kitchen as well as front of house — needs the instruction from the public health office under section 43 of the German Infection Protection Act. The initial instruction is given by the public health office; you upload the certificate for it to Sunworker.

You can only accept shifts involving food with a verified, valid health certificate. So upload it before your first request.

Other credentials

There are also hygiene training, allergen training, HACCP, first aid, a licence to serve alcohol, training as a chef or in restaurant service, and business liability insurance. Which credentials a shift requires is set by the venue in the request. In the same step you declare that you work on a self-employed basis — this is also shown on your profile.

Expiry and renewal

Keep an eye on the expiry dates; you can see them on your profile for each credential. If one expires, you drop out of searches that require it, and venues can no longer request you for shifts that depend on it.

Upload the new document in good time. A new document resets the check — so an expired credential cannot be extended with an arbitrary picture. If Sunworker rejects a credential, it does not appear on your profile and you can upload a different document.
