Setting your hourly rate and terms

You set your hourly rate, your surcharges, travel and your cancellation scale yourself under “Terms”; Sunworker does not set a rate.

Rate and billing

Under Terms you enter your hourly rate excluding VAT. It appears on every search result before anyone sends a request. You also decide how billing works:

  • Minimum hours: shorter requests are not possible.
  • Minimum pay per working day: optional; shorter days are billed at this duration.
  • Rounding: to the minute or in steps of 5 or 15 minutes.
  • Breaks: paid or unpaid.

Surcharges

For nights, Sundays and public holidays you set your own surcharges on your hourly rate; 0 means no surcharge. If several apply, the highest counts — they are not added together. Sunworker suggests:

Night work (11 pm–6 am)
+ 25%
Sunday
+ 50%
Public holiday
+ 100%

Suggested by the platform. Professionals set their own surcharges; if several apply, the highest one counts — they are not added together.

Travel

You choose: no travel costs, a flat rate per working day, a ticket against a receipt up to a cap, or a rate per kilometre, one way or return. Sunworker works out the distance from your postcode and the place of work. No commission is charged on travel.

Cancellation scale

You decide what share a venue pays if it cancels at short notice. You may be more lenient than the terms and conditions, but not stricter. The standard scale is set out under When the venue cancels.

Bookings and radius

  • Working radius and maximum travel: you are found within this radius of your postcode.
  • Lead time: how much notice you need before a shift. Venues see it on your profile.
  • Jobs from private individuals: on or off, with separate minimum hours if you like.
  • Bookings on: off means you receive no new requests and do not appear in search.

Every request records the terms that apply at that moment. If you change them later, the change only applies to new requests.
