Sunworker

Your rate. Your days.

On Sunworker you work self-employed: you set your own hourly rate, only take the shifts that suit you and get paid after the shift.

  • You set your own hourly rate
  • You decide on every request yourself
  • The money sits in escrow before the job

Work for yourself without chasing your money.

You decide what your work costs and which days you work. The venue pays into escrow before the job, and Sunworker can issue the invoice in your name. What is left for you is the job itself.

  • You set the hourly rate

It is shown on your profile and is not up for negotiation. Anyone who sends you a request has seen it beforehand.

  • Every request on its own merits

There is no rota and no obligation to accept. You see the date, time, location and pay before you accept.

  • The money is already there

The venue pays into escrow when booking. You are not working on a promise but against an amount that has been set aside.

  • Invoices without the paperwork

Sunworker prepares the invoice in your name and on your behalf (invoice issued by a third party, § 14(2) sentence 4 of the German VAT Act, UStG) – or you upload your own. The payout is released as soon as the invoice is available.

How to get started

From profile to first payout in four steps.

  1. Step 1: Create your profile

Roles, experience, languages, travel radius — and the hourly rate you set yourself.

  2. Step 2: Upload your credentials

Food hygiene certificate under § 43 IfSG, hygiene training, qualifications. Every credential has an expiry date and is checked.

  3. Step 3: Accept requests

You see the date, time, location and pay before you accept. You decide whether to take the shift.

  4. Step 4: Work and get paid

Check in and out at the venue, and your payout runs automatically afterwards. The venue has already paid.

When the money arrives

After the shift, the clearing period begins — 72 hours between completion and payout during which a dispute can still be resolved, the same on all levels. Your level only affects how high the commission is.

Your requests. In your hand. Anytime.

When a venue sends you a request, it appears in your account – on the web and in the Sunworker app – with day, time, place and pay. You accept or decline, no reason needed. The shift only becomes binding with your acceptance.

Discover the app

The app is coming to the App Store and Google Play; until then, everything runs in your web account.

How do you get jobs?

Venues find you

Venues search by role, postcode, date and credentials. On your profile they see your hourly rate, your ratings and what has been verified. What you enter in your profile — roles, travel radius, free days — decides which searches you appear in.

You receive a request

The venue sends you a specific request: day, time, place and pay are fixed before you reply. The decision is yours alone. Accepting makes the job binding; declining needs no reason.

Employed, mini-job, agency work or self-employed?

Every route has its price. Here side by side, honestly – so you can decide what suits you.

Employment

If you want security and a fixed schedule.

  • Pay during sickness and holidays
  • The employer pays half of social insurance
  • Protection against dismissal, fixed contacts
  • The venue sets your rota
  • More money rarely comes without changing jobs
  • Little say over days off and weekends

Mini-job

For a few shifts alongside studies or a main job.

  • Easy to start, little paperwork
  • Gross usually equals net
  • Combines well with a main job
  • At most €603 a month
  • Hourly pay often close to minimum wage
  • Little pension and protection built up

Agency work

If you want changing venues but to stay employed.

  • Employed with social insurance
  • Changing venues and insights
  • Paid between two assignments
  • The agency decides where you go
  • Pay under the agency-work tariff
  • Little say over days and times

Self-employed with Sunworker

If you want to set your own rate and days.

  • You set your own hourly rate
  • You decide on every request
  • Invoice and payout without chasing money
  • You pay insurance and pension yourself
  • No pay during sickness or holidays
  • Trade licence, tax and bookkeeping come with it

Rule of thumb: Self-employment pays off if your rate covers insurance, reserves and days off – so it is well above the hourly wage in employment. The guide shows how to calculate it.

Your level, your commission

Every completed job brings you closer to the next level, and the commission goes down. Clearing is the same on every level: 72 hours.
