Sunworker

What being an intermediary means

Sunworker only acts as an intermediary: you conclude the contract for your booking with the professional, who is self-employed, sets their own price and decides how to do their work.

Who has a contract with whom

Sunworker provides the platform, arranges the contact, handles payment in escrow and creates the invoice on the professional’s behalf. The professional owes the job itself. You therefore have claims arising from the job against them, not against Sunworker.

The professional is self-employed

The professional works on their own account. They decide for themselves whether to accept and owe a result — not attendance according to your instructions. It is fine to:

  • describe the result: occasion, number of guests, menu or drinks selection, scope
  • set the day, start and end in the booking
  • point out house rules and hazards that apply to everyone

A booking is not the place for step-by-step instructions on how to do the work, or for regular fixed appointments as in an employment relationship.

Who sets the price

The platform never sets a price. The professional sets the hourly rate. If you name a fixed price, they accept or decline it. For a job posting they name their price with their application.

An example

“Hot buffet for 30 guests on Saturday, food from 7 pm, one guest is vegan” describes a result. “First you chop the vegetables, then you take a break when I say so” describes a process on instruction — that is for the professional to decide.

The details are in the terms and conditions, especially the provisions for private individuals (§ 13).
