When you pay: immediate collection and escrow

When you confirm, the full amount is collected immediately and held in escrow by the platform until the job is completed.

When payment is collected

  1. The professional accepts, or you accept an application.
  2. With your confirmation or acceptance, the full amount is collected immediately from your payment method. There is no deposit.
  3. Only once the payment has gone through does the booking show as “confirmed”.

Escrow

Between confirmation and completion, the money sits in a platform account and belongs neither to you nor to the professional. That way the professional knows before the job that the money is there. After completion and a clearing period of 72 hours it goes to them. This is handled by the payment provider Stripe.

After the job

At the hourly rate

At first the amount for the booked time is collected. After the job the professional submits the actual time and you confirm it. If the job took longer, the difference is charged to your payment method. If it was shorter, you get the difference refunded.

With a fixed price

The collected amount stands. No additional charge and no refund.

If a payment fails

If your bank asks for confirmation, for example in its app, a window opens for it. If a card is declined, try again in the booking, ideally with a different payment method. Until then the booking stays “accepted”.

If an additional charge after the job fails, you get a notification and have seven days to settle the amount in the booking. After that you can’t create new requests or job postings until it is settled.
