How a shift works
A shift moves through the statuses requested, accepted, confirmed, in progress and completed; along the way it can be declined, cancelled or marked as a no-show.
The statuses
In your account, every booking is called a shift; behind the scenes it covers one or more days. Under Shifts you see the status of each shift and a timeline of everything that has happened.
| Status | What it means | Who acts |
|---|---|---|
| requested | Your request is with the professional. | Professional accepts or declines |
| accepted | The professional has accepted. | You confirm |
| confirmed | Binding; the amount has been collected. | Professional checks in on the day |
| in progress | The professional has checked in. | Professional checks out and submits actual hours |
| completed | All days are confirmed and billed. | Both leave a review |
When things go differently
- declined — the professional turned down the request. There are no costs.
- cancelled — you or the professional cancelled the shift. What that costs is explained in Cancelling a shift.
- no-show — the professional did not turn up for a confirmed shift.
- expired — a request whose start time passed without a reply from the professional.
When is a shift binding?
A shift only becomes binding once you have confirmed the acceptance and the payment has gone through. Whatever is discussed in chat is not a booking — what counts are the details in the shift itself.
Billing is to the minute, based on the confirmed actual time, not the planned time.
Shifts over several days
A shift can cover up to 31 days. The professional checks in and out on each day separately and submits the actual hours for each day. The shift is completed once all days have been confirmed.
