Google Calendar and iCal feed
With the Google connection, Sunworker writes your shifts into a separate “Sunworker” calendar within seconds of every change; for other programs there is a personal iCal feed.
Connecting Google Calendar
- Open Add-ons and choose “Connect” next to Google Calendar — or use the optional “Connect your calendar” step in the onboarding.
- Sign in to Google and allow access.
- Confirm the connection on Sunworker. Only then is it in place.
- Sunworker creates a separate “Sunworker” calendar in your Google account and only writes to that one. Sunworker never sees your other appointments.
- Accepted shifts appear as tentative, confirmed ones as firm, each with a reminder two hours before. Cancelled shifts are removed.
- Your blocks appear in it as “Not available” — without a reason or note.
- Changes you make to these entries in Google are overwritten by Sunworker at the next sync.
If you disconnect, the “Sunworker” calendar in Google is deleted along with it by default. If Sunworker reports that access has expired, simply connect again.
iCal feed for other calendars
For Outlook, Apple Calendar and other programs there is a personal iCal link under Add-ons. It contains your shifts from the “accepted” status onwards, 90 days back and 365 days ahead, plus your blocks as “Not available”.
Anyone who knows the iCal link can see your shifts. Do not pass it on. If it has fallen into the wrong hands, create a new one — the old one stops working immediately.
Which option suits you?
Google only fetches an iCal feed every few hours; the direct connection is faster. It is therefore worth it for short-notice shifts. The calendar in your Sunworker account always remains the reference.
